Image Compression is a process through which you can decrease the size of a particular image without effecting the quality of an image.

For e.g. If you have a image of 100KB and you compress it with an image compression tool or plugin, you will be able to decrease the size of the image but the quality of the image will not be effected.

Image compression is really important because through Image compression only, you can do a great improvement in your website’s page loading speed.

Images can be compressed through two different ways through two methods:-

#Method 1:- Compress Images with the help of a Plugin. (Only for Wordpress Users)

#Method 2:- Compress Images with help of an Online Image Compression Tool.

Method 1:- Compress Images with Help of a Plugin

This approach is possible only for Wordpress users because there is no way you can install a plugin in Blogspot. (This method works for Shopify also as you can install apps at Shopify as well)

There are free plugins like WP Smush and paid plugins like Imagify available for Wordpress users through which they can compress their images easily.

Do note, Making use of a plugin to compress images is not preferred most of the times, because most of these plugins do not compress properly like Image compression tools and Hence they do not show the same benefit as expected.

Moreover, it is always better to minimize the use of Plugins. This is because plugins themselves effect page speed a bit. The more plugins you will use, the more badly it will effect your website’s page speed.

Still, If you want to use a plugin to optimize images, WP Smush is always the best option.

This is because WP Smush is nearly a free plugin. It has some paid features also but alike other paid plugins, it does not have any limits on the number of images you compress.

Actually, most of the Image compression plugins will provide you a particular limit like you can compress only 100 Images in the free plugin version or only 1000 Images in the free plugin version but WP Smush has no such limits.

You can compress as much Images you like with the help of WP Smush.

Moreover Like Other Image Compression tools, you do not need to generate API to use WP Smush. All you need to do is to Go to Plugins section, Select Add a New Plugin Option, Search For WP Smush and then you need to install it.

After installing the plugin, you need to first activate it. After activating, you need to go to WP Smush section in the sidebar and click on Bulk Smush option to Smush Images.

That's it. This way you will be easily able to compress your images. You can even compress Images present inside a particular folder by going to Directory smush option and by selecting the folder whose media files you want to Smush.

As I mentioned above as well, though this method of compressing images is easy and convenient it is not as effective as the second method.

Method 2:- Compress Images with Help of a Online Image Compression Tool

Method 2 is always more recommended than Method 1. The reason behind this is Online Image Compression tools like Optimizilla are best to optimize your images for free.

There is no limit on the number of images you can optimize with Optimizilla and it is the best tool when it to comes to compressing images as it helps to decrease the size of an image to minimum by maintaining the excellent quality.

Compressing images with Optimizilla is always a good practice instead of making use of a Plugin. But if you own a big website which already have a lot of images which needs compression then making use of Optimizilla can be bit hectic.

This is because you will need to optimize all images one by one while using Optimizilla. After optimizing Images with Optimizilla, you need to replace them with existing images one by one.

Do note if you download an image from your website for optimization purposes, after compressing it with image compressor tools like Optimizilla you need to replace the original image with this compressed image.

For that you need to give the compressed image the same name as it was of the original image. After that you can install file manager plugin, go to the folder where the original image was stored and there you can upload this new compressed image and replace the existing image.

Apart from Optimizilla, Compressly is also a very good tool to optimize images.

Do note, you can even compress images with the help of GTmetrix itself. All you need to do is go to the warning where GTmetrix suggest you to optimize images and you can download optimized version of all images easily from there by clicking on see optimized version and saving that image.

After compression, just clear the cache (if you use a cache plugin) and retest your site with page speed testing tools and you will be able to notice a good improvement in page speed.

So Now Let us first understand these four options one by one:-

Wordpress version 4.9.5 is the latest version of Wordpress available to install. It is optimized by Cloudways team as a plugin named Breeze Cache plugin which is developed by Cloudways team itself is associated with it already.

If you are planning to start a Blog or a normal website, then you need to select this option of Wordpress version 4.9.5

Wordpress version with Woocommerce version is the second option and is suitable for those buddies who are planning to make a Woocommerce based store with Wordpress.

Do note that even if you install Wordpress version 4.9.5, you can install Woocommerce plugin at it. The only benefit you get if you select Wordpress version with Woocommerce option is that if you use the second option you will get full benefit of varnish cache.

Next thing is to select server location. You need to select the Server location in such a way that it remains near to your target visitors.

Suppose, I am targeting Indian audience. Hence I will select Bangalore location for the data center. After that click now on Launch now button and your server will be launched.

Step 4:- It takes 5-10 minutes to add server.

Once they finish doing it, you need to click on the Applications option at top of your Dashboard and then you can open your Wordpress website by clicking on the open link icon.

This will open up your wordpress website. (Refer to the below image)

By Default, Cloudways will associate a Staging url to your website. For e.g. In my case, it looks something like this:- http://wordpress-184652-543394.cloudwaysapps.com

You need to connect your registered domain name with your wordpress website and replace this staging url with your Domain name. In order to do that, you need to follow step 5.

Step 5:- Go to servers option in your Cloudways Dashboard. There click on the www option and then select the Installed Wordpress application. (For details refer to below Image)

Step 6:- Step 5 will open up all the details of your wordpress website. In order to connect your Domain name, first go to Domain Management option under Application Management and add your registered domain name under Primary Domain and click on save changes. (Refer to the below image)

After saving changes, you need to go back to Servers options of your Cloudways Dashboard.

After it you need to Log in to your Domain registrar's account, click on manage DNS option there and add a single A record pointing to your Public IP.

This public IP can be found in your wordpress dashboard where servers option is there. It is written with your Data center's location.

DNS propagation takes some 24 hours so after completing the above steps your website will be ready as you will have successfully connected your domain name and your Wordpress website.

(Do note, the process of installing wordpress and later connecting domain will be bit different with every hosting provider but everytime your major target will be to install Wordpress and then later connect domain.)

Yoast SEO- It is very useful wordpress plugin especially for Bloggers as it helps you to maintain and do good on page SEO of your articles and content

3. Get a Google Analytics account:- Google Analytics is a free service which is useful for Bloggers and website owners.

You can use it to count number of visitors your website is getting, check the source of visitors (like from where they coming at your website) and other useful insights.

You need to place the Google Analytics tracking code in your website in order to start tracking. There is a plugin named Google Analytics by Monster Insights.

So generally, we will take example of them in this case. So you need to select the Text and Display ads option.

Step 4: You can name the Adsense ads unit. You can choose any name you like because name does not appears anywhere at your website nor at your ads.

After that, you need to choose size. You can choose Responsive automatic size if you are not clear with your exact requirement of ad units.

Responsive adsense ads unit fit everywhere properly and looks good at every device (Desktop, Mobile and Tablets)

Step 5: In the ad type option, select the type of ads you want to show. We recommend using Text and Display ads for showing in the sidebars and headers and Display ads only for showing inside content.

Step 6: You need to copy this code and then you need to log in to your Blogger Dashboard.

Now if you want to show ads:-

Hence, whatever may be the reason In some cases you just want to link to a particular site but neither you want to pass them link juice nor you want that search engines consider its related/relevant to your website.

Now, why I am telling you all this because using this method, you can use this method to find that whether the domain you going to buy is indexed or not.

It is not that the domain you are going to buy is always going to be indexed. And it is also not that if it is not indexed it is bad and you should not buy that domain name.

But If the domain name is indexed in Google (that usually happens with most expired domains) you can use those results and check whether for what purposes the domain is used back in time.

Conclusions:

1. If the domain name is not indexed in Google, you should move to step 2 directly. If the domain name is not indexed in Google, it does not means its a bad domain. So you should use other steps to test its history.

2. If the domain name is indexed in Google, visit the results which are indexed and see for what purposes the domain is used back in time. It is always better practice to find a niche specific expired domain if possible.

3. Also, if the website will be indexed one thing will be 110% clear that the domain is not penalized by Google and it is a very good sign.

Usually domains with good backlinks remain indexed for long time even after the domain expires.

# Step 2: Make use of Wayback machine:-

Wayback machine can also be used to test the history of an old domain

All you need to do is open the wayback machine and enter the url of the domain you are thinking to buy.

It can help you to check sitemap of the website which will show you all the indexed urls of that website (if it will be used in history) and from the urls you can easily get an idea about what the site is all about.

Conclusions:

1. If you do not find anything for that domain in the wayback machine you can move to step 3 mentioned ahead.

2. If the domain is there in wayback machine, you can get an idea about the published content on it with help of sitemap.

(Recently, I was thinking of buying a technical domain name but wayback machine was showing it was having some posts related to 18+ toys and their reviews. So I skipped the idea)

# Step 3: Check For Backlinks and Anchors:-

This is the most crucial thing you need to do. You need to enter that domain in any backlink checker and check backlinks of that domain.

AHREFS is the best tool to check backlinks but it is a paid tool. So spending money on it just for checking backlinks is surely a silly thing.

So you can use any free tool like: Link Assistant and check backlinks for that domains. If you find backlinks from any spamy domain (like backlinks from any 18+ domain or backlinks from domain with high spam score) you should never buy that domain.

Also while checking backlinks, you should take care of anchor texts. If you see backlinks with any bad anchor text you must prevent that domain.

# Step 4: Check For Moz Spam Score:-

After finishing Step 3, If you do not find anything suspicious you must start with Step 4. This step is actually similar to Step 3 as it has same objectives and purposes like it.

But still you should do this step.

For it, you need to visit this tool: Open Site Explorer By Moz and check the Spam score of the domain you buying. If it shows something from 0 to 2, you can consider buying that domain.

If it shows you -/17 then also domain is safe to buy. Something more than 2 is not worth to buy.

# Step 5: Check For Penalties on Google and Facebook-

To find whether a domain is penalized by Google or not, you need to open Google Url Shortner and shorten that domain name you are deciding to buy in future.

After shortening the domain name, just open up the shorten link and if the domain name will be penalized by Google, you will get a message like this:

Hence, if you are also seeing this message, you should never buy that domain.

To check penalty in Facebook, all you need to do is send that domain name to someone in message or somehow you need to post that domain name at google in form of a post or in comments.

After doing all these 5 tests, you can get a fair idea about a particular domain and its history.

Once you are done with all this and you have selected a Domain name, all you need is to visit the domain registrar's website and register the domain there.

Please note while adding Website address, you need to add it in the form of https://www.yoursite.com (for those who use ssl) or http://www.yoursite.com (for those who donot use ssl). If you do not use www with your domain you need to add the address as https://yoursite.com or http://yoursite.com

All, I want to say is Please donot add your site url only as site.com or www.site.com. Instead of it add the complete url.

Once you add the details, you need to log in to your Email account with help of which you are making the Adsense account.

3. Once login is successful, you need to select your country and accept the Terms and conditions of Adsense. Once done, click on Create account button.

4. After that you are asked to fill details like Name, Address, Phone number etc.

But there are some cruel minded people as well in the Blogging world who are lazy and idiot enough that they don't write their own content and just try to copy it from other websites and Blogs.

Someone Coping Your Website!- Legal Actions You Can Take

These people just copy content from other websites and post it on their Blogs and websites without any information or notice to the original content owner which is totally illegal and unethical.

Some weeks back, we found a website in the Google Analytics reports of our website which was sending referral traffic to our website. (I usually have a habit that I always do check the websites sending me referral traffic and figure out the reason for the traffic)

All this is done by me to ensure that I don't get traffic from any spam website. When that day, I visited that website to make sure that it is not a spam website which is sending me the referral traffic I found that the website has just copied all of my posts.

I was like, Are you idiot dude? Why you are coping my content?

The good thing was the content and the website was not indexed at google and Hence it does not made me get any duplicate content penalty from Google.

But still as soon as I found that website I took a quick action and got the content removed from that website within 36 hours.

Today In this post we will talk about How you can get your copied/stolen content removed from the website who is coping your content by taking necessary legal steps and action.

Here first I have attached a short quick detailed video explaining all steps quickly and below it you can find all the suggested steps in detail as well.

Steps you have to take Immediately when you find someone coping your content:

1. Contact the website/blog owner who is coping your content:- This is the very first thing you have to do when you find a website coping your content. You can look at the contact page of the Blog/ Website who is trying to copy your content and find their contact email.

If you find the email or Facebook page of that website just shoot the admin of the website with a polite message and ask him to remove all the content and also explain him all the actions you can do if he will not remove the content.

Do Let him know that you will get his hosting account suspended and you will fill a DMCA against him if he does not removes the content.

You can also comment in that website's comment bar if their is no contact details provided at the website. Once you have connected with the admin and messaged him just wait for an hour for a reply and if you don't get a positive response move to step 2 and step 3 and complete them.

2. Submit DMCA : You can fill a Google DMCA (Digital millennial copyright act) against the website coping your content. You can visit the link provided here and fill a DMCA against the website owner: Get your copied content removed- Fill a DMCA

You have to just fill a simple form with details like link to the original article, link to the copied url, your personal details etc. and it will took you some 2 minutes to do this and complete this form.

Once you have done this you can move to third step.

3. Contact hosting provider's legal team :- After filling DMCA try to find out the hosting provider of the website who is coping your content.

Once you find the hosting of that website you can contact the legal team of that hosts or simply their support team through email and explain them the complete situation. Usually most of the big hosts have such separate teams who deals with such issue so you can expect a quick reply from them.

In my case the website which was coping the content was hosted at name cheap. So I contacted the name cheap legal hosting team and asked them to remove the website and suspend the hosting account by providing them the required proofs and screenshots.

Usually most of the Blogs and websites which are run by these copycats are hosted at Blogger as its a free hosting provider so this can work for most of you.

This means if you want to add voice to the videos you have made and want to explain a lot of things there is no need to buy costly recording setup. You can just use Fleeq and it will do your work. Hence, you can add narration to videos without doing your own voice recording

After creating a video, when I have to export it (or you can say download it), you have to click on the export fleeq button. After clicking there, they send the Fleeq in the email. Hence for every video that I made with Fleeq, I have to wait for an email everytime to download it.

Also there is no such support or contact email I found at their homepage. They have just connected their social accounts of Facebook and Twitter. I think they should work on their support service as well.

Now we will talk about some few other websites where you can promote your business or website. So let's start our discussion:

6. Whatsapp: While promoting your Business at WhatsApp you need to keep some proper steps and guidelines in your mind. The two strong reasons which Justify my statement are:

If you will just spam people by sending your website links, chances are there they report it to Whatsapp and you get your account Blocked.
Spamming is also not preferred. It will affect your brand's reputation.

So the question Now comes to every mind is then How I can promote my website or Blog at Whatsapp?

10. Meetup.com: Meetup has a lot of good things in it. It is a social platform with very fewer spammers. 3. Twitter: Twitter stands out at the third number in this list. Whenever we right a post which mentions a particular product we tweet about it for sure. Their social media team retweeted it and loved it. That bought me some extra impressions and click on the tweet. Though this is a Q/A site means people use it for asking questions and getting their answers, but I am considering it in social media sites because of two reasons. The very first reason is Traffic from Quora is considered as a social traffic in Google Analytics and second reason is more people use it as a social media and not as a Q/A platform.
Frankly speaking Quora is the best social platform currently existing in the market. My websites 30-40% traffic is from Quora. I never suggest anyone to just post links there as it can lead to blocking of your account. Instead of it, you can write some useful content in the answer and also add a google plus share link of your post. So first share a post at Google plus and then share that Google plus link at Quora. If you do this they will never block your Quora account and you will get good traffic as well. Otherwise it is a lovely platform with lovely users who post good content. So you can also be a part of it and share your knowledge.

5. Youtube: Youtube is the number one video sharing website. You can use it as a great source of getting website traffic if you use it wisely.
Note that you can get website traffic from Youtube by two ways:
* By making Videos
* Without making Videos

a) Idea of getting traffic from Youtube by making videos is pretty simple. You can make videos revelant to your website or Blog niche and post them on Youtube by adding links to your post in the description box and get traffic.

b) You can even use Youtube to get website traffic without making a video. You can just post videos revelant to your niche that are ranking at top positions in Youtube search and engage with the audience. Let me explain you in details How to do this:

First open Youtube and search for any video related to your niche. A How-To video is preffered for this. For e.g. I search for What is Affiliate Marketing on Youtube and I see many videos. Now from this I will found those one which have lot of comments and admin is not replying to anyone. Now instead of the admin I will start replying to those comments with links to my post. In initial days I used this technique a lot of times to get great amount of traffic. Though it is time consuming but it can send you much amount of traffic.

How to add Disqus comment system to Blogger

A comment bar is that place where you interact with your readers mostly. Readers can submit their suggestions, feedback and advice through comment boxes. But if you have a comment box which appears unappealing to the readers and it is not user-friendly, chances are less that you will receive comments from your readers.
A good comment box must have following options:

1. Users can easily sign in or sign up and leave their comments without wasting much of their precious time.
2. Must be user-friendly where users love to engage in conversations
3. Moderators can easily moderate and differentiate the genuine comments from spam ones.

Now In this post, we will talk about one such third party comment system which has all the above features and which you can integrate to your Blogger Blog i.e. Disqus

So Let us discuss How we can add Disqus to A Blogger Blog and Import old comments from Blogger as well.

Here is the Step By Step Guide to do this:

1. Step 1: Go to disqus.com: Do visit disqus.com and click on get started and make an account if you have not an account with them yet. You can even use your already existing Gmail, Facebook or Twitter account to register with them. Once registered do confirm your Email account by clicking on the link in the Email box you received.
Now click on the settings icon on the top right-hand side of your screen. Now go to the option: Add disqus to the site.

2. Now you will be redirected to a new page like this once: Add disqus to your site. Scroll to the end of the site and click on Get Started option as shown in the picture below:

Once done you will be redirected to a new page where there will be two options:
1. I want to comment on sites.
2. I want to add Disqus to my site

You have to select the second option. Later you have to add the website name to which you want to add Disqus comment system. Now you will be redirected to pricing page. You can select a free plan there. Even paid plans are there but free works well for most of the sites

Step 3: At this step, you have to select the platform on which you are running your Blog. As we are talking about Blogger, in this case, you can select Blogger. It will later open your Blogger Blog and then will add Disqus comment system to your post section automatically in the layout.

Step 4: Now If you don't have any comments in your Blogger Blog, you have to do nothing else. For those who have some comments already you have to import the already existing comments also.

To import your already existing comments at Disqus go to community section. Under this see the tools option below which Import option is there. I started replying to them with a link to my Blog posts where needed. I engaged a lot of people with the same technique.
